Unable to Find Much on Large Fiber Neuropathy - It's almost All Small Fiber Information

Does anyone know a different search engine or site that has good information about large fiber Neuropathy? Every time I search "large fiber neuropathy," 80% - 90% is about small fiber.

Trying to find out how well IVIG does with large fiber neuropathy. Frustrating as most everything goes into detail about small fiber and mentions nothing or just touches a little on large fiber. I've tried Google, Duck Duck Go, Bing, Yahoo and one other I can't remember name of.

my own thoughts are a bit more basic in that - my guess is whatever is triggering it - its likely a v similar mechanism to SFN - just able to affect the larger generally tougher large fibres

i suspect there is some small differences in the myelin sheath of the larger nerves that makes then a bit different to the small fibres chemically / biologically - so one might need an additional immune issue, antibody or irregularity to make them susceptible.

this is more reasoning than absolute knowledge though - i just mean that by looking at it from such a logical perspective you may be able to adapt much of the knowledge of cause and possible treatment from SFN - which as you say has more info available

Rainy suggested this search engine the other day - as one having less filtering of alternative medical info in its algorithms - so might be worth a try if you are not getting much via google

Thank you both for the links. Think I found enough to know larger fiber neuropathy can be reversed if the axon is not beyond damage after long term problems.

Just have to catch it in time. I went years thinking mine was small fiber and was very surprised when large fiber came out positive. Lyme cannot directly cause large fiber neuropathy but if you have small fiber long enough, it can become large fiber.

That’s why it’s so important to get treatment to take care of it early on, though mine could be the result of having Sjogrens Syndrome. These are things most doctors never mention.
