There was a member here briefly last here named Spaceboy who had recovered previously following the Shoemaker protocol. My Functional MD, who diagnosed me with CIRS also recovered with that protocol and had other patients who did as well.
I did not. I don’t really know why. I think it’s a combination of things - the high level of sensitivity I had developed; the inability to get into a mold (and chemical) free environment; inability to remove the toxins already in my body much less the ones coming in on a daily basis; how long I had already been sick and dysfunctional; the presence of the infections as well as ropeworm and possibly other parasites; the likely heavy metal toxicity that I never tested for or treated other than having amalgams safely replaced and taking binders that bind multiple toxins; the level and longevity of dysfunction that had already occurred in multiple body systems; the high degree of sensitivities I had which made any kind of treatment difficult to unbearable.
The doctors I have seen are not the best or most experienced. The first doc really didn’t know what to do with me. She had not had a patient yet who was like me. Even my current doc, when I asked, said she didn’t have any other mold patients who were as sensitized or unable to recover as me and also said I had the highest level of gliotoxin she had seen. And that was after I had initially cleared gliotoxin from the first exposure.
Have you taken Cholestyramine? It works, but I went too much too fast and made things a lot worse.
