Other than purposely cultivating Solomon seal in my backyard after finding it growing wild there about
five years ago, I have not really tried any natural plants, flowers, trees for medicinal purposes before.
That said, it’s kind of fun making something out of a wild local plant.
Every winter when I’m brushing the snow off of the lower sagging branches from my white pine , I keep on reminding myself to try to make some white pine tea. Well today I finally did, with the help of the Internet. Supposed to be good for immune system and colds. It was a slight amber color smell like pine needles lol and the taste was kind of boring. It actually tasted somewhat like Chamomile.
I have a white spruce in my front yard I think I’ll try to make some tea out of those needles next.
You can make tea out of Birch leaves also but there are no leaves this time of year. Its apparently a little bit spicy so that sounds good but it’s not the best for ...I think it was your liver, so I guess I should try that.
In the past, I purposely went winter treking through a birch forest to find some Chaga. Although I found some weird growths growing on wild Birch trees none of it appeared to be actual Chaga.
Dandelion tea looks pretty interesting, only a problem everywhere I see a lot of dandelions are on actual lawn of some type which is going to have fertilizers and chemicals on it.
There is some wild spearmint that grows in a sandy area on some state land close to me, I might try that sometime. (if I’m bored lol).
🤔
