Zithromax/malarone

I’m super sensitive to medications. My llmd started me on 75 mg zithromax and a pediatric dose of Malarone (62.5 mg) every day to see how I tolerate it and then slowly increase. My questions is Will this little amount of these medications do anything for babesia or Lyme? I’ve had a lot of nervousness and joint pain the last couple days but how do I know It’s not me getting worse because it’s such a small dose vs a herx? Any insight would be great.

Thank you so much for the welcome. I’m just worried I’m struggling through these small doses and it won’t even kill anything. Yes I do epsom salt baths and alka seltzer gold among other detoxing supplements.

I don't think the case is such that a little bit of abx kills a little bit of babesia/borrelia. You would need to reach a certain concentration in the blood to kill anything at all, and I doubt the current dosages are sufficient.

But he/she should be able start off at a lower dose and increase.

Sure he/she can increase dosages, but I think we can put aside the idea that he/she is currently experiencing a "herx".
