I have had this happen, as have lots of people I know - usually tweaking something in the neck while sleeping or right after waking up.
It's awful and painful, but it resolves. Try gentle stretching, massaging the area, essential oils (especially frankincense), Penetrex or Topricin, CBD, CBD balm, arnica oil, more craniosacral therapy if you can manage it, yoga for the neck and shoulders, heat packs, and lying on tennis balls or some other practice that provides gentle traction. Dry needling, trigger point release, and acupuncture also might help.
But really it will go away with time. It's just really obnoxious in the mean time!
