Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We strive to maintain clear and open communication with all members and have not intentionally removed any comments. It is possible that there may be a technical issue at play.
Regarding the unanswered questions, could you please point me to the specific questions? I will ensure they are addressed promptly.
Thank you,
Healingwell Team
Dear, Admin:
I'm going to be direct, but not rude. I'm speaking only for myself and giving the details as I recall them. A few items may be out of chronological order, as it never occurred to me to document a timeline over the past year.
It was 11.5 months ago, that
THIS MESSAGE was posted on all forums. If you wouldn't mind, please give it a quick read. It's quite brief.
Since that time, this forum has suffered intermittent performance issues, gone offline without advance notice, tested a new web design for a while, caused users to suffer login/password issues, and locked out others. E-mails requesting assistance were sent and messages asking for updates were posted in the above thread.
I recall some members posting about
their e-mails requesting help going unanswered and I saw for myself our posts in the above thread going without reply. Within several days, the original forum was restored. Again, there was no advance notice or any indication of the site rollback was temporary or permanent.
Additional messages seeking clarification were posted in the above-linked thread and were subsequently deleted. From
open discussions among members here, the moderators confirmed they did not delete any of the messages in the thread.
While "there may be a technical issue at play," regarding the deleted posts, it seems unusual that the original message in that thread remained and that no members reported any other messages going missing in the general Lyme Disease forum.
Some of the comments in the since-deleted posts were critical about
the lack of updates that were promised in the above-linked post. This, of course, could give the appearance of not wanting to acknowledge or address those valid criticisms. Those since-deleted comments, like my comments here, were blunt, but not rude or profane.
We're all adults and understand that things don't always go as planned. In fact, given our many overlapping reasons for being here, we know things *usually* don't go as planned. It's less about
there being problems and more about
how those problems are handled.
With all that stated, I think it's important to learn from the past but not dwell upon it unnecessarily. Perhaps we can start anew. The commitment to "...maintain clear and
open communication..." is a perfect way to go forward.
Maybe we could start by getting an update on what's happened behind the scenes over the past year, if any upcoming changes are planned, and if there's anything we can do to help attract more readers and grow the platform.
Thanks for any consideration.
Dude
