Insulin resistance and / or blood sugar issues

My blood glucose would run in the upper 90s. After treating Babs more heavily, I've seen it come down some (down into upper 80s at times), but it still fluctuates. But I definitely seem to see a correlation betweeen blood glucose and Babs in my case. Another infection could also be playing a role for me, like perhaps Lyme & Babs. It's hard to judge at times. I eat a better diet overall (low sugar) but still eat some carbs.

Home glucose kits are not very accurate.

The arm monitoring units are more accurate, but costly.

Mine Finger prick test kit was always 7-10% wrong when compared to the blood test at a lab or Drs appt ((I test myself in the parking lot 5 minutes after).

Plus many people who are ill or have auto immune conditions have Elevated glucose in the morning upon awakening. My glucose is healthyist just before dinner so five in the afternoon. In the morning, it’s elevated.

A1c is more accurate.

Glucose has a lot to do with the gut health and gut permeability. Since US doctors generally do not treat the whole body, diabetes Doctors are unaware of this.

In the US diabetes is an industry, As are all sick people. I’m convinced healthcare really doesn’t want to fix it.

strictly speaking heamoglobin A1c is a measure of the average blood sugar over a period of time - approx. 3 months - so if you want an average over long time period - then it can be useful

however if for instance - you are a type 1 diabetic - or someone who suffers from blood sugar spikes - due to stress or cortisol or diet - then its the time with excess spikes that does the most damage - and yet, if your blood sugar is yo-yo-ing around ( typical in these circumstances) - then A1c could be in normal range ( as the long term blood sugar average could still be normal - despite extreme peaks and troughs ).

so its a horses for courses type thing - different tests are best - depending on what you are trying to measure
