Lea I think I have developed Gastritis and GERD, I'm seeing a gastroenterologist soon to find out more.
I have been trying to heal them with dietary, lifestyle and supplement / herbal changes so I can share what I've been doing
- avoid fatty foods, fried foods, inflammatory seed oils
- avoid processed foods / avoid refined sugar
- avoiding certain spices, vinegar, coconut aminos
- eating small meals / avoid eating a lot of food at once
- don't eat within 3-4h of going to bed
- avoid drinking water with meals
- sleeping on left side
- raising the head of the bed
- after eating and drinking sitting upright / not laying down
Supplement called acid reflux relief by Global Healing which contains aloe vera, meadowsweet, slippery elm, chamomile, marshmallow, ginger, apple cider vinegar
Supplement called GI Relief (formally called GI Encap) by Thorne which contains DGL Liquorice, Marshmallow, Slippery Elm, Aloe Vera
I'll be honest I haven't had much luck, doing these things stops it from getting worse and reduces the severity of my symptoms but it doesn't make it go away. The only thing that makes a difference is barely eating or drinking anything (bc food and drink triggers mine) which isn't sustainable or good for us in the long run.
Do you know what caused yours? What do you currently do to help yours?
