I’ve been putting this off for two years, my new immune doctor finally talked me into getting the Pneumovax 23 (pneumococcal polysaccharide) vaccination.
My titers for Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria are very low to begin with, now after the vaccine in 3 to 4 weeks I will get tested again to see if my immunity changes to it (possibly not).
This is the most common way to test your working immune system in individuals with low IgG immunoglobulins. Just measuring the level does not measure a strength. Just like an army, you can’t measure its strength by the numbers.
Nothing bad so far just a little sore, tired, and my ears are kind of ringing.
The Covid vax four years ago kicked my ass, I don’t think this will.
Yeah, this doesn’t have much to do with Lyme disease other than the fact that I was not diagnosed with hypogammaglobuliminia (suppressed immune system), until Lyme disease and even after.
Most people with this rare blood immune disorder are born with it,…..if I was, it wasn’t this low until after lyme hit me the hardest (10-15 Years ago). Dr. Who seen my weird blood test results back then just shook their head and did nothing until I figured it out and asked for more testing and diagnosed it myself.
So far this is only known to affect one in 30,000 people as far as PubMed says. 10 years ago was thought to be one in 50,000, Which was probably due to lack of reporting or cross referencing or the ability to have a more accurate count with computers/Internet, etc..
