Not sure why my body started having problems breaking down oxalate.
There is a bacteria (Oxalobacter formigenes )in the stomach that helps break oxalate down. It could be because we have killed it all off with abx. Unfortunately they haven't been able to make it so there is no supplement to restore it. I think there is other stuff that can help though. Here is what that Google "AI Overview" generated on my search:
Other bacteria that may help with oxalates include:
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum: A probiotic supplement that contains this bacteria may reduce gastrointestinal oxalate absorption.
Lactobacillus: This bacteria may reduce the fraction of oxalate in a culture medium.
A lack of butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid produced by bacteria, can lead to a leaky intestine. This can allow compounds like oxalate to be reabsorbed into the bloodstream and travel to the kidneys.
