i looked into it a little while ago and found that some of these thiamine derivatives have structures similar to allicin from garlic ( i think some of them smell of garlic too ) - a substance that is known to be antimicrobial - so i wondered if that could have something to do with their action in Lyme an co.
Interesting I hadn't read this. Also a lot of antimicrobial herbs derive their benefits from the immune modulation side - which I feel is more likely to describe the mechanism of action here vs killing. I will add I find the benefits of HCL vs the fat soluble forms to be rather similar just different dosages. TTFD did seem to hit the brain better with this warm sensation (felt in other forms but much more with ttfd). I've experienced similar sensations in the brain like that from bolouke and Dan Shen etc (be it thiamine seems to do much better at.. so I'm assuming it's doing something with cerebral blood flow). Thiamine also feels stimulating vs those - outside of day one of each form which had a relaxation feeling.
