Famciclovir

I tried taking famciclovir instead of the valaciclovir and lamivudine that I've been taking.

I got a headache which I assume was a side effect of the drug, so maybe this isn't the best thing to be taking.

Then I started to herx, and three days later I am still herxing. Very sore muscles, and cloudy smelly pee, and I have been sleeping a lot.

The herx finally went away after about a week. I took another dose and I'm not herxing quite so bad, so it seems this killed off a lot of borrelia.

I find it more effective when combined with other things, such as loratadine and minocycline/azithromycin. Basically the strategy is to stress the bacteria a bit, and then when the bacteria attempt DNA repair, block the DNA polymerase with famciclovir. I've also combined famciclovir with lamivudine. It's generally not advised to combine famciclovir and valaciclovir as these are chemically similar.

I'm not sure what effect it would have on bartonella. I haven't had any bartonella symptoms for about 2 years, so I assume it's just hitting borrelia at this point.
