Anyone tried Ivermectin ?

I’m curious if anyone has tried it since im on some fb groups they do bring it up often as well as fenbendazole to help with Lyme and coinfections.

I did take Ivermectin - but I believe it was when Covid was happening.

I m taking 2-3 times per year as a prevention against ticks and also as anti-parasitic. Does not seem to work against lyme, compared to first-line abx or some herbs.

i have used it - but more to see if its immune modulating effects were useful

i don't think there is any evidence that it has antimicrobial activity for Lyme so i wouldn't recommend it for that - especially as we have many other options that do have good evidence for activity against Lyme

Ivermectin is pretty good for babesia, I would use it in a combo with tafenoquine against it. On the other hand, fenbendazole is pretty decent against borrelia. That's why you see that people do better when taking those two drugs in facebook groups.

My mom just started using IVM. Only 3mg per day right now. Combined with some Tinidazole for Lyme. It's definitely doing something.

Yes, and anti-parasitic. It's used a lot for the Lyme cyst form. I won't be surprised if Mom has to add some other stuff for Babs as well, but she's had a couple better days on the IVM and Tinidazole.

Have been taking IVM on and off for about 2 years now. Its a great medicine to have on hand, not sure how useful it is for lyme and co but some have said it has immune modulating effects which is a plus.

Would it be good for an autoimmune disorder like sjorgrens? Or for swollen lymph nodes?

Ivermectin made my son's PANS symptoms much worse. I gave it to him when my husband brought COVID home, but he couldn't tolerate it. It was too immune stimulating for him. PANS involves autoantibodies that cross the blood brain barrier and attack various neuronal targets. When I looked up Ivermectin I saw in the medicla literature that it has a macrophage activating effect. If you think you may have any autoimmune component to your Lyme I'd be careful with Ivermectin.
