Thanks for all the food for thought.

hi Onlynamenottaken
You have clearly been at this a long time and tried many different approaches
That must have been a hard road to travel
Since your current approach is to pulse antibiotics in one way or another anyway - I don’t see any downsides to trying so with Ceftin
In your shoes I would still combine it with other antibiotics though as:
1, there is no suggestion from the pulsing lab studies that adding other antibiotics would counter the pulsed Ceftin effects
2, there are now more recent lab studies of antibiotics combinations for borrelia showing it combines well with clarithromycin and Alinia (one of the most powerful combos tested to date)
As above there is also the co-infection question - as it seems the majority of tough cases have at least one and often more co-infections which seem to dramatically lessen the chances of recovery until they are addressed
Biofilms (including persister cells) and immune disruption seem to be the two factors that differentiate early cases that tend to respond well to treatment – and late / chronic cases, who tend to be difficult to treat - so if it were me I would want to ensure I am addressing those angles adequately
Of course that may entail significant discomfort, and even some degree of incapacitation - but getting to the other side without having to endure that may not be possible at this stage
I live on my own and while i mostly only have myself to worry about
- i also have to balance treatment with also having to look after myself - so I know its not easy.
pulsing does have the advantage of the off weeks where energy and symptoms tend to improve and you can do more than in the heavy treatment weeks.
I hope its of some help
