in reference to bartonella treatment

Endothelial Glycocalyx: The endothelial glycocalyx is a crucial, gel-like layer lining blood vessels, vital for vascular health. It regulates permeability, maintains blood flow and blood vessel dilation by producing nitric oxide, and prevents clotting. Bartonella infects blood vessel endothelial cells which may damage the glycocalyx.
diagram of what it looks like in healthy states - here ( blue layer)
VIEW IMAGEi have not seen it mentioned before - and i think he is probably guessing - or making a logical extension that it could be a key area to help healing from Bartonella - rather than there being any direct scientific evidence of efficacy in bart infections
but i still found it interesting - basically the gel layer keeps substances from directly contacting the endothelial cells themselves - so if thelayer is missing - direct contact between these cells and things in the blood steam like bartonella - or things leaking from the gut etc - would be likely to react with the endothelial cells - causing immune responses and inflammation.
i wondered if this mechanism might be involved in the auto-immunity so common with chronic bartonella infections
edit - i dont think marty ross is practicing any longer - he retired recently i think - and he has his own website - so i dont think there is any issue mentioning his name
