Eric,
I am so terribly sorry that your condition and symptoms have been so awful. I am no expert on anything, but here are my thoughts.
1. I believe there are tests that can be done to eliminate the possibility of MS/ALS and such. I don’t really know how they are diagnosed, but I expect a neurologist could test for those. I just don’t know if the tests are direct or indirect.
2. I would consider the bartonella results as positive. Bartonella tests are often negative even when present, and your symptoms definitely suggest bartonella is present.
3. I have often suspected that when people have really severe symptoms, as it sounds like you do, that mold exposure may be playing a role in the symptoms and their severity. Mold and bartonella symptoms seem to have a lot of overlap.
Do you know if you are currently living in a moldy or water damaged home? Have you ever been evaluated for mold illness?
Mold exposure really does matter, especially with anyone who has Lyme, bartonella or other tick borne infections. Doctors who treat both mold and Lyme generally believe that mold needs to be dealt with first.
