Stiff/sore neck

Well, after some months after remission (a little happiness) this symptom is also coming back. It is the worse at night when I am lying down. It will get so stiff and sore I will wake up with headaches. I have some of those "special" pillows for your neck and shove those in neck and also will put heat on it (that helps a little), but not enough. My chiropractor hasn't been able to make much headway either. I am getting headaches and some migraines throughout the day, but think many are coming from this neck issue. I just wondered what others did to "cope" with this symptom (on top of all the others of course!?!).

Leah,

Are you saying that you've been classified as in remission and now are not

on abx? If you are getting your symptoms back will you go back on meds?

I ask this because I wonder when I get to the point of remission what I would

do. I think I'll be on the phone asap with my doc. Good Luck to you. Hope

I shouldn't have labeled it "remission". I became about 90 percent better but due to my kidneys showing signs of distress and also intestinal issues I was forced to come off antibiotics. I have mentioned to my infectious disease doc that a few symptoms are popping up, but see him again tomorrow to tell him again just how many. My fear is that he won't treat me again and also I don't know if my body I can handle antibiotics right now (my intestinal issues are far from solved I have lymphocytic colitis and IBS). I don't think I could afford a different doc right b/c this one is on my insurance. The only doctor I am considering saving up my money for is an MD/natural doctor that has worked with Lyme patients (but that can get expensive). I just praise God my husband, son and daughter are doing better!

Leah,

There are so many types of abx available. I would think your doc could suggest one that's not

as rough as others. If you feel like you are in need of abx then push that issue with your doc.

You are your best advocate. I would also think if you made sure to take huge amts of probiotics

2hrs after each abx dose you would have less tummy issues. You know how bad you've felt

in the past and to have gotten to 90% better you don't want to go downhill. I'd say if you

remind your doc of where you'd been and how much better you got yet past symptoms

are creeping back your doc shouldn't have an issue with treating. But I am not a doc

and some of them out there have viewpoints that are not easy to understand. Good Luck to

Hey Leah! I haven't talked to you in a while. I'm sorry your symptoms are coming back. I had the stiff neck really bad before the IV's. It's better now though. Are you stuill seeing Dr. P.? I am. What are you currently taking? I am on IV roc. and rifampin. Are you happy with Dr. P.? How are your kids doing with treatment? My 3 yr.old had 3 EM rashes on him one morning. I totally freaked out! Dr. P. treated him for 2 months and he has not shown any signs of symptoms. Thank God. Take care. Dina :-)

I read somewhere that IV bypasses the intestinal tract.

Just a thought. Not fun, but it may get you there 100%.

Hey Dina - Glad to hear you and your son are doing better. I keep you and your family in my prayers everyday! As far as Dr. P I have mixed feelings. I don't believe he would have given me anymore antibiotics (because he fears what it does to my kidneys and also the horrible shape of my intestinal track), but my husband kind of strong armed him into it. I have to wait a little while to start b/c the Mepron is really expensive so I have to get that one through our mail order program so it's cheaper. Maybe herxing by Christmas - LOL. I have some pictures of this rash I have but don't know how to upload - no doctor knows what it is (psoriasis or what) it get really red and spotted when I get out the shower (maybe the heat) and it itches. I thought someone here might know what it looks like.

My son is doing so much better (AMEN!!) right now!! I don't think Dr.P would even consider giving me another PICC line and IV meds with all my problems - I don't he thinks my body could handle it.

I hope you and your family continue to get better.

ashleyf3 - I get the same thing -- that rash. It activates in the shower. I think it's winter itch...
