hey kendal- I am seeing Dr. D on June 2nd. He has me on valcyte which is an anti viral. It isn't doing much of anything...I still have my picc in even though I haven't done any rocephin since march. I want to go back on the combo that helped me last year which was rocephin-rifampin-malarone and plaquenil.

What are you on now and when do you see Dr. D again?

about the rocephin shots. Some people on lymenet are doing them..

ktp812, hi, i see Dr.D June 10. right now i'm on amox and biaxin flagyl do you know what grams they are taking for rocephim shots and how many time a week. I'm going to ask DR. D if i can try that. Thanks,

kendal- I couldn't find the dose of the IM rocephin injections. They are writing that it is quite painful because of the amount that has to be injected. I will look some more and see if I can find any further information for you..why don't you just do IV? The picc really isn't bad and I have had mine in for 5 months now and you can have it done at the hospital.

kendall122, what kind of work do you do?  Typically a PICC line would not interfere with normal activity, but it cannot get wet.  IV Rocephin can be infused in just minutes.

kendal- it looks like 2 grams but I am not sure how much that would be in a syringe. Most people are also adding lidocaine to it so the injection doesn't hurt as much. I know you have had bicillin shots too so you know what it feels like. It depends on what type of job you have if the picc would interfere. I work in a pharmacy so I have no problems.

When you see Dr. D ask him about the amount for injections. If I find any more info I will let you know! Take care
