This is about transmitting Lyme to a Baby. My Baby turned 1 this week, we had a great Party day. When I first got pregnant and chose to stay on Antibiotics the whole time my OBGYN thought I was taking it a little to far. She showed me the CDC sight where it said you can not give it to your Baby. I told her that I had much better research to go on and that it could be transmitted and my desicion was final.
She did support us on that, a couple weeks before she was born someone sent me a link to the CDC and they had changed there info and at least at that time it did say Transmision from Mom to Baby was possible. I sat and read it with my OBGYN and she was impressed that I had done my research and knew that ahead of time. She was very helpful at the birth taking samples to be tested by Igenix and dosed me with IV antibiotics when I was in the Hospital. I was impressed no oOregon Dr had ever helped my Lyme. All Igenix tests were Negative and so far she shows no symptoms.
Here is what I found in the CDC
Lyme disease acquired during pregnancy may lead to infection of the placenta and possible stillbirth, however, no negative effects on the fetus have been found when the mother receives appropriate antibiotic treatment. There are no reports of Lyme disease transmission from breast milk.

Now that I just reread it doesn't sound as good as it should. I definitly think there is transmission through breast milk. I really hope one day they will start studying this stuff.
I was going to put this in the Post on Babesia on TV , but I didn't want to take over there post . I did miss the show I was upset. That was the day my Daughter turned 1 we went to the Lake all day it was so much fun to watch her play in the water for the first time. I am pretty sure the Lake we where at is where I got Lyme. I checked our family very well and didn't let the kids play in the Forest area.
I did sit and watch a Large family playing in that same area I was at 5 years ago with all that tall grass. I really wanted to go over there and warn them but I propably would have looked like a crazy person.
I wonder what bit me that day. I was bit by many big Deer flies and developed a bulls eye rash the next day that i blew off as a spider bite and never saw a Dr until 4 months later when I showed Nueroloigical peoblems. My Daughter did a report in school where her teacher gave her info about Deer flies transmitting lyme. Not sure if thats true or not.
I don't know where this post is going but I just wanted to tell my story.
