I have just begun the Buhner protocol... I notice that the andrographis directions say to not take these for more than 10 days. I checked this out online and found the same information---some said "Never Take more than 10 days." There is no call at all for stops or breaks in taking andrographis in the Buhner directions. Is it SAFE or REASONABLE to proceed for months, years, without any break from them? Confused? (what else is new) Thanks.

fxkane,
Hi there:) Welcome to the forum. We're so very glad you found us.
I don't have the answer to your question but wanted to bump your post up so that you could get answers. We do have members here that take andrographis and I'm sure they can help you.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

"...I probably should quit recommending that brand of andrographis just because of this. I have answered the question in great detail at planetthrive.com.
however. . .
the reason the bottle says that is that the formulator of that brand thinks that it will quit working after 10 days (which it won't). The only known side effect of the herb is allergic reaction. In about
one percent of people it takes the form of severe hives. in about
.001 percent it takes the form of bronchial asthma. in chinese medicine it is contraindicated for those with cold constitutions, but I don't use the chinese system. Generally, the herb may be taken long term and usually is in china. there are no safety reasons that anyone that I know of has been able to find, nor any in the literature, that would make taking it for 10 days necessary.
best,
stephen buhner
