I am going to the GP on friday and want to change the abx I am taking. I have been on 600 Rifampin and 500 zithro for over two months without much improvement. I have a lot of cognitive problems with memory, confusion and inability to focus as well as depression. I have read that bactrim ds combined with zithro is very helpful for some people with cognitive problems while bactrim ds with plaquenil is good for moods. Has anyone used bactrim ds? What were your results and what did you try it with?

I had a reaction many years ago to a sulfer drug and have not tried one since but I read you can start very slowly and desensitize yourself to it. One of my doctors mentioned this but I didn't pay much attention. The LLMD wanted to try me of bactrim but decided to do the rifampin instead.
