More Lyme drama

Hello all!
It has been month's since I have posted. That doesn't mean I don't keep an eye on here for you though;) I'm pecking this out in bed after having taken a muscle relaxer (Soma), Neurontin (Gabapentin) and to top it off a Vicodin. The pain seems constant especially at night. I've been off of antibiotics about 2 month's now and am trying Teasel root extract for now, but the pain seems to be getting worse, the heart is palpitating, and am feeling the buggers coming on. However, after 2 years of straight antibiotics and hitting a plateau, I needed to see what would happen. Starting to plan for the next approach. Anyhoooo, it's good to have a place to check in. This is a great site with great people!

Sounds very familiar. After two years of different oral abx combo's, I'm currently on an antibiotic holiday (wait-and-see approach). My overall improvement reached about 30% after treating babesia microti for 6 months (Mepron & Zithromax). No further improvement with 3 months oral Ketek.

I hope you've been able to manage your pain a bit more so that you can get some restorative sleep. Have you taken a break from antibiotics before this one?

Every time I take a break from treatment, my health goes into the tank. My LLMD advised me to take a break right now because I developed a few small ball bearing-type lumps in my armpit, along with soreness. The armpit is getting a lot better now.

I think it's possible that I may have a babesia recurrence, based on frequent low-grade fevers and nausea.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm in the same boat. Wish I had some suggestions. The one thing I will say is that when I stay positive (I know it's hard) and motivate myself to be productive I seem to feel physically better. I really think (for me) that trying to stay mentally and emotionally 'healthy' is key. One last thing (I learned from a friend that past away from kidney cancer), try to help others (even if it's something small). It's a great distraction from your own suffering/problems and makes you feel better about yourself. I know it sounds kinda silly but it works. Good luck.
