I was just recently put on this in the last month for muscle twitching. It is very mild (not noticeable to anyone else). My doctor thinks that the twitching might be waking me up at night (not sleeping well) but we are not sure.

I am on the generic version (lamotrigine).

Since starting it my symptoms are worse than before..... head pressure, depression is really bad, bone pain, heart palps etc...

Has anyone else been put on this med for muscle spasms or seizures?

I take generic Lamictal for treatment-resistant depression.  Probably related to the Lyme and Cpn infections.

It is used for seizures, some for bipolar, and depression.  It's really helped me cause SSRI's quit working.

It helps to work up slowly on the dose.  Headache was a problem and I didn't feel well, but I did adjust to it.

What dose are you on?  You may not need as much as they use to control seizures.

Also a sleep study might be useful to help to figure out if your motions are giving you a low quality sleep.

Ugh.  Wish I could sleep more than 5 hrs a night.

Hey Rich,
I started with 5 mg and then went to 10 mg, i'm suppose to be working up to 25 mg but I don't see that happening.
I have had a sleep study, how are you suppose to sleep with all those wires hooked up to you??? The study just showed that I wake up alot...not exactly sure why.

I talked to my doctor today, she said to stop taking it. I hope these symptoms go away soon especially the head pressure.

I was put on this too (by the SC LLMD, my primary LLMD is in Tampa). It has helped my twitching a great deal. I also slept better after about a week or two after going on it.  Hope this helps.
