Hi everyone im new here just wanted to let everyone know alittle about
me,first of all i was told i had fibromyalgia about
20 years ago and my doctor that i have been seeing all these years i beleived and trusted well i was recently about
9 months ago bit by a tick and all my symptoms begain to get worse i ended up in the er with a racing heart chills shaking uncontrolably. they kept me over night and then sent me home i was waking up everynight with my heart racing then i begain to get more and more symptoms from weakness to tremors exhaughtsion memory loss tingling and numbness in my arms my hips my knees well right knee was hurting so bad i could hardly bend it i could go on and on with my symptoms but to make this short i went from doctor to doctor to find out what was wrong with me and nobody seemed to help so i was about
ready to give up. so me and my husband had planned our vacation to westvirginia and i was so happy we were going but the ride totaly drained me i thought maybe after the night a good sleep i would feel better but of course i was up at 3:00 am and the same ole same ole no sleep the raging symptoms and i was just so tired in my body . well out of the whole 12 days we were gone i had one day that i enjoyed my self the others i was to weak and sick to enjoy anything well we came home and i searched the internet and found some answers . i took a blood test through igenex labs and i was positive so i got on line and found a LLMD from a lady that knew one close to were i lived i was so happy the day i walked in to his office and found someone who could finally help me . little did i know that i had a long road ahead of me i am now in treatment no where near being healed but am feeling better there are days when i can hardly go but i just keep praying that God will answer my prayers. anyways i still am new to all of this about

Hi there floridagal47,
Welcome to the forum! I am so sorry that you have Lyme, but happy that you found us. There are a few things that come to mind when I read your post. Lyme messes with the entire endocrine system sometimes and the fast heartrate you had makes me think that you may have thyroid problems. Have you had your thyroid checked yet? Your adrenals should also be checked as well. Also, the weakness could be caused from low Vitamin D levels. Many with Lyme Disease and Fibro have low Vitamin D levels so you should get that checked as well. Magnesium supplements are a good place to start to help with sleep. I had really bad twitching and muscle spasms and I was also having trouble sleeping. I started taking magenesium supplements and it has helped me tremendously.
Learn all that you can about
Lyme Disease. You can start by reading the thread titled, New To Lyme?....Start Here!" There is great information there to help you on your Lyme journey.

Hi Floridagal47,
Welcome to the Lyme forum! It is good that you already have a diagnosis, LLMD and have started treatment. If your treatment includes antibiotics, you will want to make sure that you take a good probiotic to maintain the good flora in your digestive tract. My LLMD has advised me to avoid all simple sugars, exercise daily and drink plenty of water. Most folks here also recommend detox baths to help with the herx response that many of us experience during treatment. I take my antibiotics with food to avoid stomach pain and gut issues. I highly recommend the documentary Under Our Skin if you haven't seen it already. I have shared the video with some family members to help them better understand the controversy surrounding this illness. I hope that you start feeling better soon.

Hi,
I was just assuming by your screen name that you are located in Florida. If so, could I ask who you used for a LLMD? Been looking for awhile now with no luck.
Thanks,
Jeff
