What's next?

  Can someone tell me what to expect next.  I've been on antibiotics for about three weeks now and I have an appt. to see my doctor early January.  I don't know what to expect.  I've read that the meds are a cure but I've also read that some people are on meds for the rest of their lives.  Please help me understand.  This is all so new to me.

Welcome to our forum!! I am sorry that you have a need to be here, but I am glad you found us! I'm sure you will find us to be a caring, understanding, and helpful group!

I would highly recommend that you read the thread at the top of the forum titled "New to Lyme?...Start here", as it has a lot of really good info that the members here have put together.

Springsjean pretty well wrapped up that answer in a nice way, although there are can be many complicating factors. LD & other tick-borne infections thrive in the "weak points" in a person's body. If allowed to stay either under-treated or is left un-treated it can spread to include organs, joints, muscles, bones - well you get the picture.

Would you please tell us a little bit about how you got infected, when you got infected & your experiences this far? We really look forward to getting to know you better through your posts, and it helps us to to help you with suggestions.
