Hi Hasek!!
Welcome to our forum!! I am really sorry to hear how sick you have been, but I am sure glad you found us!! I'm sure you will find us to be a caring, understanding and helpful group!!
It would be a really good thing if you would read through the thread at the top of the forum titled, "New to Lyme?... Start here!", as it is packed full of some really great info that the members here put together and some very helpful links as well!!
It has been determined that I have Lyme Arthritis, mainly because even though the joint damage is obvious, I have no arthritis "markers" in my blood. I'm still not real clear exactly what that means, though. I also need to add that I am not taking abx though.
Anyway, I have done some research-type reading and have learned that Lyme induced arthritis is not much different than other types of arthritis - except that once the bacteria are eradicated from a persons' body - the damage stops happening. There may even be a little healing happen once the body is rid of the infection.
We do have a few (?) members here that have R.A. and Tick-borne infections though, one of them being the other really great moderator here on the Lyme forum - Cajungrl. I'm sure they will be along to give their ideas as well.
Are you detoxing? This is an incredibly important step in your healing process. The abx that you are taking are killing off the bacteria. As bacteria dies, it puts off toxins, and these toxins will increase the severity of your symptoms and/or bring on new symptoms.
Detoxing is the only way to help your body rid itself of such a large load of toxins. There is a really great post that describes in pretty good detail what you need & how to get started detoxing. You may find that you have everything you will need to get started already in
your kitchen & bathroom!! The dry skin brushing is also really important as it will improve the health of your skin and will help it to be better able to do it's part in detoxing as it is the largest organ we have that aids in detoxing!!
I sure hope this makes sense, as I'm a bit foggy-brained today!!
Once again - WELCOME!!!!
