Medical community ignorance

Hi All,

I asked my sister and who is in the brain neuro science and behavior field about her thoughts on a link on this forum. She looked into the link she came back with another link from The New England Journal of Medicine. The more times a read the attached quote the angrier I got. Here is the quote:

"the goal should be to provide emotional support and management of pain, fatigue, or other symptoms as required.54-56 Explaining that there is no medication, such as an antibiotic, to cure the condition is one of the most difficult aspects of caring for such patients. Nevertheless, failure to do so in clear and empathetic language leaves the patient susceptible to those who would offer unproven and potentially dangerous therapies. Additional advice to clinicians is included in the Supplementary Appendix."

My interpretation of the quote is: We do not fully understand any diagnoses or cure for your disease, ergo because we are health care professionals your disease is all in your head". It made me very angry and that is good. It really enforced to me the reality is we all have to take 100% ownership of our disease. Both LLMD and other alternative healers can not cure us. We must do that ourselves. It is a daunting task and as always with this site it gets back to: "when strong is all you have"

I hope you all had the best day possible. I am relearning to enjoy the small blessings in life. They are numerous. I also realized it is ok to be angry sometimes, it helps the fight but one cannot live angry. Be well all and be strong and lets get better. Peace, JT
