Anyone have this problem? i haven't been on here in forever. i miss you guys!

I've been in treatment for 2 years next month. I am currently on Penicillin injections and zithromax. My heart skips beats and then beats reallly fast and it hurts. I have gone to the doctor and did a stress test yesterday, am wearing heart monitor now and have an ultrasound on Friday. However, she said that a lot of the time when you have lyme you develop heart beat issues (I can's spell arythmia...unless that is right.lol) that you can't really do anything about. Anyone else have this going on? It is really scary!

Oh yes, Alone,

My heart used to chuggity chug, slow down, miss beats, race and hurt. I have gone to the ER for it, but they seemed to cause more problems than they fixed!

Now if you feel you are really in danger you should go to the ER.

But generally, if your heart is acting up when you are exerting yourself, stop it. If you are just sitting around and it acts up, start moving around.

Magnesium and potassium supplements can help with these issues, but talk to your doctor about that.

Best thing is to keep calm and carry on. Breathe! I know that is hard cause you truly feel in danger! These symptoms will pass as your treatment progresses.

Ugh. I too worried about heart issues and found relief from racing heart, skipped beats, etc. with magnesium and rest. All tests always came back normal and while I get palpitations now and then, it is nothing like before. I will say I had to give up caffeine and chocolate as they still make my heart race terribly. Hope all comes out well.

Thanks guys. I did get a call from my dr a little while ago and I do have a magnesium deficiency. ALong with B12. So, I start shots tomorrow for the b12 and have to start taking magnesium again. My stress test came back fine, which is good! Hopefully the magnesium will help. Thanks again!

the magnesium is something that biofilm feeds off of ad there is a split in the lyme community on magnesium.

have you been checked for strongylides?

I used to have the most gripping heart chest pains until I was treated for strongylides.

another parasite that comes with tick bites.

Before that I spent an overnight in cardiac and they wouldn't let me go untill they killed me taking that stress test. unreal how they can pass you on that test even though they have to carry you back out the room after that treatmill. idiots.

seriously, the metemetrex 2100 series is the only one my doctor trusted. not doctors data.

it was expensive but picked up 3 parasites

I'm so sorry you have to deal with that! I'm actually getting tests done next week because I've been having tons of heart problems/chest pains for the last few months. I cant imagine it's causes by anything but Lyme coinfections....but if it makes you feel any less scared I've had these problems for months now and after dealing with it day after day and nothing bad happening (aside from the pain) I'm finally just adjusted to it. I went to the ER twice in the beginning because I couldn't imagine that it wasn't a heart attack. But now I feel the exact same pain but the fact that I'm not scared anymore and that I don't think it's anything more than just discomfort makes it so much easier to deal with, just another symptom and that's all. For those of you who have been having cardiac symptoms:  (of course I'll start by saying this is just my experience).  Quick overview, I am 39 and had alway been in good health.  I was treated for early lyme 2 years ago, and told I was cured.  At the time I'd had abnormal heart rhythms and was put on metapropolol for them.  The meds. helped.  at my six mo. check I dropped during a stress test, after being on the treadmill for less than 2 min.  my heart rate was over 180 and my bp was too low to measure.  in future tests, I faired no better.  This condition continued to get worse over the next year (lots of tests), including much persuasion for heart nerve cauterization (which I thank God I didn't do).  All the while told this had nothing to do with the Lyme I had been cured of.  When I was diagnosed with COPD because of limited lung function, as well as poor kidney function, (along with other "Lyme" symptoms) we FINALLY put it together, and I saw a LLMD.  The GOOD news (and part I'm trying to get to!) is that after 3 mos. of lyme treatment, my cardiac and pulmonary symptoms have completely disappeared.  I am down to 1/4 dose of the heart meds. and plan to wean off soon.  Just know that the cardiac stuff can be serious (when heart rate gets too high, it has the potential to back blood into the lungs and cause clots), needs to be taken seriously, but also, hopefully temporary.  Take care, good luck.
