My boyfriend was diagnosed with Lyme early in the summer after many months/possibly years with symptoms.  I am giving him Bicillin injections twice a week.  His symptoms started to improve greatly to where he was getting back into boxing, eating better and much less anxiety.  Over the last 2 weeks his symptoms have been worsening again (more anxiety, muscle spasms, nausea/vomiting) almost as bad as his original symptoms.  Has this happened to anyone on treatment? Does it usually get better again or should the antibiotics be changed? we have an appointment with the LLMD on tuesday but just wanted to get feedback! i am also awaiting results from Igenex for myself as I have been having a lot of lyme symptoms

That kind of worsening of symptoms is usually a sign that it is time to switch dose or type of medicine. I'm sure the LLMD will give you the best judgment on that.

Was your boyfriend ever tested for co-infections? Sometimes these become more apparent after some treatment.

It is also becoming apparent that Lyme can be transmitted sexually (it is similar to syphillus). That is not widely accepted in the medical community as it is pretty hard to prove. But it stands to reason in that the Borellia bacteria has been found in every bodily fluid.

Let us know about the doctor visit and your test results.

thanks! from all the research i have been doing i figured he may need to change the medication-we will find out on tuesday. he was tested for co-infections and was negative. i will post my results and his new treatment regimen! we have read that it can be sexually transmitted which makes logical sense since it is the same type of bacteria as syphilis.
