HI Hansen!
Welcome to the forum! I am so sorry that you have a need to be here, but I'm sure glad you found us!
If you haven't already, it would be beneficial for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,
"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of relevant information, symptom lists and informative links that have been put together by our members here! Most of those who have read through it have said that it was very helpful!! We also have a pretty good search function on this forum to help you narrow down your search for information from past posts. We must be our own health advocates now and the best thing to arm yourself with is knowledge!
Please do keep your appt with the LLMD! He is really the only one qualified to evaluate you to determine if you have a tick-borne infection or not! Even the CDC says on their website that diagnosis is supposed to be a clinical one, and that the lab tests "can be helpful". (
www.cdc.gov/lyme/)
Unfortunately, your doc is one of many that are uneducated and just don't understand how prevalent tick-borne infections are. The last thing a person should do is to not get checked out if Lyme or any other TBI (tick-borne infection) is even a possibility -and with those positives on your tests, combined with your symptoms - which are in line with a TBI - it's definitely a possibility that you are infected.
Do you know if you had a tick attach? Lyme and other TBI's can be passed by other insects as well. How long ago did your symptoms first start?
We're glad to have you! We look forward to getting to know you through your posts!
