Ok to break Flagyl in half?

I am about to start pulsing -

5 days clarithromycin 2x 500mmg
1 day flagyl 500mg
6 days clarithro 2x
3 days of Riamet

I've been very sensitive to meds in the past and would like to build. I've broken clarithro in half in the past with no problems.

Just wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to break Flagyl in half?

On the box it says "film coated" but not specifically "enterically coated", nor does it say anything on the leaflet. Some tablets are unsuitable for breaking in half and can make you extra nauseous if you do...

Also, any experiences on that dose & frequency of the flagyl?

I'm a little nervous, I've not reacted well to meds in the past.

AFAIK, it is fine to split Flagyl tablets. But always double-check with your pharmacist - they have more details about the specific medication and whether it can be split/crushed, etc.

I started with 1/4 tablet flagyl because the herxing was too severe with any more than that. Now I'm at 2 tablets/day and doing good on it...

I always take mine with a meal to avoid the almost guaranteed stomach irritation (most pills cause me stomach irritation, even vitamin pills), and have not had any trouble with nausea from the flagyl (except as part of a herx, but that takes a few hours to hit me).
