I stopped abx (zith and doxy) in November because after years of them and Buhner herbs, I didn't seem to be getting better. I do have chronic lyme with positive tests.
I was "ok" for a month and then started to really go downhill with fatigue and headache and neck pain that has become unbearable. No over the counter med touches it. Muscles tight and general body aches that come and go.
So, since I had doxy leftover, I took two one night. The next day the pain was so much less. The next day I took no doxy and the pain was back at an intense level the next day. I took the doxy again and the same thing--although not feeling great, better with less pain.
Now I know doxy is not supposed to work like that for lyme. It never has in the past. It was always a slow improvement. So could that mean that this is not lyme and the doxy is knocking out something else?
I suppose it could be a fluke and have nothing to do with having taken the doxy.
I had a bad day today without having taken it last night, so am trying for the third time taking a dose this evening.
Has anyone else experienced this? I just don't think it's possible it's lyme it's hitting. But if not, what?
