Yesterday I went for a Bowenwork session. It's very gentle and meant to help the lymphatic system while helping the body to figure out what it needs to heal itself. This practitioner also combined the treatment with essential oils. She has another Lyme patient and when she added the oils to the treatment the woman had a total relief of her pain for several weeks.
I had my first session with her yesterday. She used a lot of different oils and layered them on. Basically she only applied them to my spine and bottoms of my feet, later after she had me flip some was placed on my forehead.
She would wait a minute between each type of oil. I know some were antimicrobial and others were more detoxing or relaxing. The Bowen work itself was very gentle, she would work a small area very gently and then leave me on the table for a few minutes then come back and work again.
I vaguely remember her mentioning things like rosemary, tea tree oil, frankincense, lemon grass, peppermint, cloves, citrus....... There were many more
I was so relaxed I fell asleep. I smelled woodsy when I left and that kept me feeling relaxed.
Later I realized the pain in my SI joint was gone (still is)
This morning my wrist stopped hurting
My calves are still burning, but I have some hope that this will be helpful. I am planning to read more into the essential oils to see which ones I can use at home between sessions to help.
There's something to this very gentle treatment that works. I'll keep people posted as I learn more.
