Western Blot results

Asking for patience with all of you because I feel certain that this question has already been addressed many times. However, I don't think I'm putting the right words into the forum search engine.

In a nutshell, I was flabbergasted last week after being told by my practitioner (not an MD) that I am positive for chronic Lyme, as well as Chronic Epstein Barr, and mold toxicity. I already have ulcerative colitis (dx'd 2002) and many other issues, including high leptin, high blood pressure, and thrombotic risk. All of the symptoms fit, most definitely.

My question is THIS:  No Elisa test was performed, and I understand that the ELISA test is basically a waste of time anyway. The WB was performed and I tested positive (abnormal) only for bands P58 and and P23. I have read almost everything I can and also watched Rich Shoemaker's videos, etc.  And I've only become more confused.  Does the singular P23 mean that I have Lyme or not? Any guidance is most appreciated.  I keep looking for a definitive, and it's all so muddled.

Thank you so much for the welcome.  My testing was done through LabCorp - 24 vials of blood later......all these illnesses.  My practitioner says that she has worked with an expert in Lyme, but quite honestly if she said his name I don't remember. (It's not Richie Shoemaker.) It took 3 hours with her to go through the blood work, so some of it is still a jumble to me. She DID say that CDC was on her case - wanting to know WHY she was doing so much testing for Lyme. I suppose she has diagnosed more than a few of her patients. And again, the symptoms certainly make sense - the last 4 years have been brutal and I've been to doctors, endocrinologist, nephrologist, etc.  There is a part of me that says, "Just shut up and be grateful you finally have some answers."  But I suppose that the skeptic in me just wants to know more.  I know that everything I've read says that if you have the positive P23 then that's pretty definitive that you have Chronic Lyme.  Treatment consists of: Flagyl - 5 days, Start Diflucan, start Doxyxycline and then 30 days of zithromax.  It is the Doxyxyxline that I am most fearful of because of the impact it can have on UC - and I've read some really bad stories.  Just read the story of Amy Tan's ordeal and her doc put her on long term Flagyl instead of the Doxy.  And then there is a Cathyn Harbor in Lexington VA who espouses the Questran approach for Lyme and all biotoxins.  Unfortunately even though I live in an area considered to be one of the best for medicine, I don't know how to find if there are any physicians who are experienced in the Lyme and biotoxins.
