I was clinically diagnosed with Babesia and have noticed that it affects my sleep cycle. Every 5 or 6 nights, I sleep like I am supposed to rather than getting up at 1:45 to 3 am. Are any of you noticing a cycle and if so, what is it?

I notice something of a 2 week cycle with lyme - I once read something about how your body goes through something like a healing phase and a sick phase (and that stuck with me as my explanation) - while I'm actively fighting/recovering I sleep like a baby but then when I'm not fighting anymore, and full of toxins and in a "sick" phase I have wicked insomnia!

In the period where I have trouble sleeping, my cycle seems to get later every day. Just last night I was staring at the clock at 2am noticing how it didn't feel late at all.

Each of these infections have their own cycles of when the bacteria (or in the case of Babesia- protozoans) re-enter the blood stream. When they are in the blood stream is when they usually caused increased (or even new) symptoms.

The unfortunate thing is that the more infections one has, the more cycles that will be going on! Is Babesia the only infection that you have? The tests are so very unreliable that it would be best if you have also been well evaluated for all of the other tick-borne infections.

If Babesia really is the only infection that you have, then those cycles could be an indicator of when it would be best to have the most aggressive treatment, since the only way to kill these infections is when they are active in the blood stream.

Since I had Lyme a few years ago, when I got bit this time, I started doxy. I had no Lyme type symptoms but 21 days after the bite, I started having other symptoms. LLMD said I probably killed the Lyme since I started early. I'm actually doing very well and you wouldn't know I had anything wrong with me, but I know. I can't lift weights (despite having strong muscles) or sleep, and besides a shoulder that becomes arthritic when I stop the Mepron, I seem fairly normal.
