Low white blodd cell count

I have been on antibiotics for Lyme for 8 months and made good progress. Most recent abx were ceftin 500 mg BID and zithromax 250 mg daily. Just went off them yesterday for a break per LLMD.

Had my routine 3 month lab work yesterday and my White Blood cell count, which previously has been normal, is now very low at 2.3.

Could this be from the antibiotics or should I worry something is wrong?

My WBC were low before I started antibiotics...may be part of lyme....

Antibiotics make it worse, a good probotic and clean eating is the best thing for you. Its fascinating listening to Dr Rau and how he treats Lyme without antibiotics.

Thanks for your input. My WBC count has been in the normal range up until this last test. I assume it's from the antibiotics and hope it bounces back up!

How did it go with your low WCB, i just received my lab work and my number is 2.2, I am pretty worried, my doctor asked me to see an hematologist, waiting for an appointment, meanwhile try to see how i an boost my number, did you find anything? I am using the Buhner protocol.

The CD-57 test is for a certain type of lymphocyte. Do you know your CD-57? I started reading Buhner's book tonight and I can't find where, but he talks about WBC changes during Lyme and treatment. If you have the book, perhaps you can find it?! WBC are also called lymphocytes. Buhner's book has lymphocytes references in the Index at the back of the book. Hope this helps.

Certain abx can cause low WBC - you can research yours on-line or ask your pharmacist. I had been on two that knocked my WBC into the cellar and had to discontinue them and use something else - my WBC's came back up once I switched. But as you can see from the other replies, it can be for other reasons as well.
