RMSF Positive test

My PCP has agreed to run tests for me, and one of the results that has come back so far is positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
Interestingly, when I look online at the research I see that I have been exhibiting the rash for close to 5 years now. I only get it after my shower every day, I get these bright red patches all over my body.

I can't remember what they are called - some kind of bird name, I think.

So, more test results pending, but I have definitely gotten PCP's attention with this positive test result.

Where is the best place to read about long term chronic infections of RMSF? Any one have good info to share on that?

ALSO- I am meeting with the state division of vocational rehab on Tuesday to ask for help with getting a wheelchair lift in my car and getting my bathroom refitted so that I can get in there with the chair.

Anyone tried those folks for assistance? Any luck?

We'll see what happens next, I suppose...

I don't know anything about working with the vocational rehab, sorry. I do however know about chronic infections with RMSF. I have that as well, and there is very little information on this subject - even among the tick-borne infection research. Almost like it didn't even exist! Every so often I have to do a bunch more looking, as I do hope to find some info at some point.

No, not petechial rashes. These are big red splotches that only appear when I shower. It's been going on for years. I thought it was just "one of those things"...

Finches, bull finches? Something like that...they look like bright red blotches some as big as a deck of cards...

There used to be a photobucket with pics of rashes in it that I first saw them in and I can't find it anymore.

Well, don't worry about it, Marika. There are all kinds of rashes that happen with these infections!

I started doing searches with the terms "Chronic rickettsia" and although there are a lot of results come up, they are not providing much info at this point, other than there are a whole lot of diseases/conditions that Rickettsia cause!

I'm still sifting through those results.

I just got notification of a new research paper that was done on Rickettsia infections like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. It's quite informative too! I would suggest that anyone wanting to know more about this group of infections, read through this article!
