Hi Confused - I know how tough it can be dealing with any illness, lyme especially, and I'm certainly glad you found us! We're here to help however we can every step of the way! You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.

I too live in Georgia, Athens area, and was recently dx'd with lyme.  From what I've learned, everyone has said there are "no good LLMD's in Ga".  I do know an Enviro doc in Atlanta who uses UVB (Ultraviolet Blood Therapy) for lyme & another in Roswell who does alternatives....neither are LLMD's from what I understand but I like that they are doing alternatives.  There is an LLMD in Missouri & another in Tennessee that both take insurance (rare).  I have not made a choice of what avenue to go.  I also have mold illness so I've been told by 2 of my docs not to do the abx so my situation may be different. Feel free to email if you'd like.  Thank goodness for groups like this where people are so supportive & sharing information.  I wish you & everyone here health & wellness.  It's a tough road but so many on here get well....it's very hopeful & encouraging.  Good luck.

I could give you his info by email, Confused. The one in Missouri is real close to Memphis, TN & sees lyme patients one day a week (I think Wed). I considered him because he was trained by one of the famous LLMD's in the NE & also worked for awhile with an Enviro Doc in Clarleston, SC so I figured he'd know mold & be a bit more alternative minded. I have heard of a gal going to the other one in TN but haven't talked to her directly.

I just got dx'd several months ago but was told I've had it awhile....actually just got a copy of my Labcorp Western B lot (doc chose to do this one 1st before Igenix if the Labcorp was negative) results yesterday & am trying to figure it out....IgG P66 present/abnormal...IgM P41 & 23 present/abnormal. I had tick bites spring of 2011 & this spring/summer again...since moving from my mold house to my camper. But I was told I may have it 5 yrs ago, my doc didn't want to "open another can of worms" as I'd just been dx'd with mold illness. Not sure how long I've had it but the symptoms I've been having since last year are MUCH different than mold symptoms I've had for 10-15 yrs! I too have to be careful with what little funds I have left, we've lost almost all our savings. I am leaning more towards herbs or frequency/rife type treatment, maybe going to someone for guidance, etc. Having mold illness, abx is not the best for me to do & I've been told by 2 of my docs not to. I'm still researching & trying Transfer Factor (herxed bad last month trying it) to help my immune system fight it. Feel free to email me & I'll share the doc info....can't give names on the forum.
