Questions about LLMDs who accept insurance

For those of you that see an LLMD that accepts insurance, what is your treatment like?

I'm asking because I'm going to see an LLMD in Feb. and my concern is that because he accepts insurance he may not be willing, or even able, to treat aggressively if need be.

I just wanted to hear from some of you that have experience and/or advice on this topic.

I'll try this again...I'm worried now! Is anyone seeing an LLMD that accepts insurance? If so, I'd love to hear about your experience. I'm a little concerned since no one responded the first time around...

I know it's hard for doctors to treat aggressively because the ins companies don't want to pay for long-term treatment. Any thoughts?

My LLMD accepts my ins., I had to be referred by my Primary care to the LLMD.  My testing for lyme (+) and co-infections (-) was done by my Primary care.

I am being treated with ABX.  I began with two types at my first visit in sept and have justed added another based on my follow up visit last week.  I am comfortable with my treatment and I know he will continue to treat me as needed.

You're welcome, Lymer! You have legitimate concerns! Although I'm not sure that all LLMD's that accept insurance have to deal with insurance companies turning them in, maybe it's only certain ones?

I hope that you can get quite a few more responses so that you can have a good idea of what to expect!
