Gracelynn, the air hunger was one of my worst symptoms. I couldn't walk 10 feet without gasping for air. I realized I was getting enough oxygen after I bought an oximeter (the little machine that hooks on to the end of your finger) and realized I was getting enough oxygen. When the attacks occurred I would bend over with hands on my knees and try to relax and when I was able I would do some breathing exercises. I would tell this symptom "give me all you've got" which actually helped to relieve the anxiety/panic attacks. Eventually, the panic attacks went away but I was still being burdened with the air hungar. Today the breathing is a bit better/not as intense. During a panic attack my throat became very tight, too. I still get throat tightness on occasion but it doesn't bother me anymore. I make sure that I take small bites of food in case it occurs while eating.
