ACK!!
Mystery First of all, thank you for your kind words! They really do mean a whole lot to me!! (((hugs)))
I'm not exactly the poster child for a healthy diet - the only organic foods around here are from my own garden as we live in a very rural area. Although I do eat pretty healthy, I'm not gluten-free, although I have reduced the amount of gluten I get to almost none. I'm definitely not dairy free, but I have my own goats, so I get all the fresh, raw goat milk I can use (and then some! LOL!). Raw goat milk is the only "healthy" milk according to Homeopathic and Chinese medicine.
I am sugar free, but have been for many years, due to my intestines being super sensitive to sugar - my main issues have always been in my intestines. I use Stevia. It does take a little getting used to as it's so strong - so you only use very small amounts. I have found that I even react to fructose, so it has to be pure stevia for me.
I also stay away from the nightshade family of vegis - potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants for the most part, as they seem to increase my pain levels - no fun!!
As for the abx, I was on 900 mgs of Minocycline a day, divided into three 300 mgs doses. That was only for the Lyme infection, although my LLMD at the time (who is now deceased) told me after the first round of WB results came in and of course were negative, that we had to assume that I not only was chronic, but that I had
every tick-borne infection.

'Bout scared me out of my seat when he said that!!
He though we should knock down the Lyme infection, then go after the other infections - which is what I did when I switched to using Holistic medicine as well. I am now to the point of re-treating my Lyme infection!!

I'm pretty happy about
this!! Can ya tell?? Giggle!
I think there are several reasons why abx wasn't a route that I could take. One being that my detox pathways weren't functioning well enough to even keep the regular toxins from backing up, much less the onslaught that was caused when I started killing off the Lyme bacteria.
Two- pharmaceuticals are rough on the body. They are made by taking a natural compound, stripping away all the other things that normally found with it in nature, then they make it stronger and feed it to us with fillers and other things. Any person can react to those fillers, dyes and whatnot's that are in there and it's just more that the body has to detox. The things that are normally found with the substance that pharma labs want work synergistically with what the labs strip away to protect and help carry the substance to the right part of the body to be used. It sometimes also protects the body from harmful side effects.
There are quite a few of us that have compromised detoxing ability. I think it's something that just happens for some of us, for others it can be due to lifestyle, but the results are the same. It also seems to me that most often someone with long-standing untreated tick-borne infections will have these issues and they must be resolved before healing can really happen. It could be why it took me 9 months the first go round with my Lyme infection to feel like things were under control 'for now'. I went on to treat Babesia, and the herbs that we were using couldn't be combined with any of the other herbs for the other infections.
The length of time in treatment will be unique to each of us, depending on many factors - how long we have been ill, how severely ill we have been, what other infections/viruses we have, the ability to detox, the ability to heal, and the damage that gets done while we are ill. Having been ill enough for it to really interfere with my life for over 20 years now and having lost a couple of organs, my teeth and the damage to my joints and more, it's going to take me a lot longer to heal than someone that has been ill for 5 years with very little complications.
With that said though, I feel like I'm healing soo very well and fast! The first suggested amount of time that I was seeing for someone who was pretty ill, but hadn't been through quite the amount of stuff I've been through was 7 years....now I doubt that it'll take me 7 years to get to where I'm as healed as I can be! I've been in treatment for 2 1/2 years now and I'm approximately 60 - 70% of what someone my age would be doing.
