From the little that I found that I could actually understand (LOL!) HLA B35 has to do with disease progression, but it can mean any of a number of diseases, one of which is autoimmune thyroiditis - (Hashimoto's thyroiditis) -which is common among Lyme patients.
Technically, it's "Human histocompatibility (HLA) surface antigen encoded by the B locus on chromosome 6."
Whatever that means! LOL! There's all kinds of technical, scientific info about this online, but not a whole lot for lay people as it's considered to be "loosely" connected to several diseases from what I could see.
I'd be interested in what your doc has to say, if you don't mind sharing that info.
