Burning, stinging eyes?

Do your eyes burn and sting? Why does Lyme cause that? Mine do most of the time. Sometimes it's relatively mild, but when I have a sudden really bad flare, my eyes sting like crazy! Is it the toxins?

Mine do as well.  My eyes are always red.  They sting and burn.  I'm not sure what causes it, I just chalk it up to how toxic I feel.

For me I notice it more when I eat something I shouldn't or when I'm flaring. My eyes burn, my lips get dry and my lady parts down below get dry and irritated too. It's an all in one thing. I do know that dry eyes and such can also be signs of low thyroid, low adrenals and low iodine, all of which can be impacted by lyme. Lyme also impacts hormone receptors so that may be issue for me down below. But the dry, burning eyes always bother me. I'm not sure what the real reason is. Wish I knew more, I just like answers.

Other than what Justascarf has said, Lyme likes the eyes! It can hide in them pretty easily too. So sometimes it just takes time in treatment for this to go away.

Lyme can cause they eyes to be dry as well - I had to get eye drops for sensitive eyes for a while to help because my eyes burned so bad! The eye drops for sensitive eyes usually will have less boric acid in them. Eye drops with high levels of Boric acid will make your eyes sting a lot more, so make sure that if it's on the list of ingredients, it's at or near the bottom.

Well this is my newest symptom, only comes out when I’m herxing. Horrible burning stinging eyes, sometimes it feels like there’s shards of glass in them. And bloodshot eyes, and really red eyelids. Good to know I’m not crazy.

I wish we could pick and choose symptoms because I would gladly take sore scalp, vibrating leg, and joint pain any day over pressure headaches and burning fire eyes. It’s like symptom roulette, every day is different with this crap.

when you are herxing like that, try an antihistamine. seriously.

itchy eyes is a sympyom i have all the time except when i take histamine blockers.

i dont take them all the time, just om bad days

besides oral antihistamine, you can try sodium cromoglycate based eye drops. i use both when in need , simtaneously...

Yeah, I take Benadryl sometimes when the herxing is really bad, in addition to all my other detox methods. Thankfully the burning eyes never lasts long, it's just so weird how many random symptoms pop up. Today my biceps are sore for absolutely no reason.
