My I first LLMD appt went pretty well. He had a lot to say, and seems extremely knowledgeable and up-to-date on the whole spectrum of Lyme and co-infections (as far as I know-I'm still learning!!)

He mentioned biofilms, and I think that's a newer concept in terms of how to get to and eliminate the Lyme. At least that's my understanding...that is.

One thing he was adamant about- he said "Get all of that metal out
Of your mouth". Funny thing is, I hadn't even told him I have fillings (and they aren't visible unless I'm opening wide, lol). So, of course I said yes I have 4 of them, and he said they've gotta come out. He said with heavy metal toxicity the abx can't do their job. The immune system can't get to the core of the problem and do its job with all of these toxins. At least that's how I interpreted it.

Just curious about everyone else's thoughts on this. I absolutely want to get them removed, I've always hated them. Of course, it's the expense of it that will hold me back. But I'm pretty resourceful so I'm sure I can find a way :)

I've also heard this should be done slowly, i.e. one at a time, otherwise it will release too much mercury at once. A relative told me this and I've yet to research it, so I thought I'd ask here while on the subject.

I'm sure that those members more knowledgeable than I am on this subject will be along soon to explain better, but yes! You do need to have those fillings taken out and for the reasons your LLMD stated. The longer those fillings stay in your mouth, the more toxic stuff will leach out into your system.

You do need to be sure that you use a "Biological Dentist" as they are the only ones who know how to removed those fillings without causing more issues to your already compromised body.

I would like to affirm what others have said here. Mercury is very toxic in its own right. The synergistic effect with Lyme is overwhelming to the body. I feel that ButterflyAK's comments are right on the mark!
