Rifampin question

I know Rifampin can make your urine orange, but can it make your bowels orange as well??

I'm assuming this is the cause of what I'm experiencing, as someone even mentioned you can't wear contact lenses while on it b/c it can turn them orange as well.

Very strange actually, anyone know why it

Thanks Todd! Yeah the first few days for me it was orange urine, now it's orange bowels. I guess I was worried that since my urine is no longer orange it might not be absorbing properly?? Idk...hopefully that's not the case since my bowels are showing signs of it in my system?

Much better! I have a lot of medication issues, with either them not working or having the opposite effect. Idk why this is, but it's a major concern for the abx, I desperately need them to work!

It varies with me as well. I can go months without orange urine and then one day it's back. I asked a LLMD about it and he claims that whether or not it's orange has no correlation to if it's being absorbed properly.

I wear contacts with it. They don't turn orange for me. I've been on it for a very long time.

One thing I also notice is my teeth are staining! It happened the last time I was on it too. It does go away with a good cleaning, but it's still annoying...

I'm diagnosed that I had tb lymphadenitis last Nov. 2014. I had an operation on my neck to remove the mass and had a biopsy and thats what it says. I started taking myrin p forte. I only last upto 2 and a half months because my liver cant handle the meds. I am diagnozed of having hepatitis b and it is incurable. Thats why my doctor stopped me from taking myrin p forte and take ethambutol first while my alt is being decreased. (Btw my sgpt count went upto: 987. Thats why I went yellow) after a month my doctor prescribed me to add RIFAMPICIN. First week of taking this med, my urine turns orange or sometimes not, what Im worried about is my stool went orange (but i know its normal) but there is a lot of orange mucus when I wipe my butt. My bowel habits turn abnormal, sometimes I had a very soft stool and hard ones, sometimes theres a lot of mucus and i feel a rumbling sensation on my rectal sometimes, I dont know if it just me. I dont know if that's my hemmorhoids. (I got rectal bleeding a month ago and i started to feel a lump on my butthole whenever a push to much). I want to ask this to my doctor but shes always not around, thats why my check up was always delayed. Please tell me if you feel the same way sometimes. Thanks.

It is the rifampin side effect. I just want to share my story why im going through this medication same as you guys out there. All about the orange stool thing :)
