Hello-

I'm wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on the dose and type of antibiotic my daughter's doc prescribed for lyme. He has her alternating between 250 mg of Azithromycin daily and 100 mg of minocycline on the next day. To be sure that's clear, she takes one or the other but not both, each day. Does this dosage and script seem consistent with what you're seeing. My daughter is 14 and weighs about 120 pounds. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Is the doctor a LLMD? I don't know much about dosages for children, but I'm about the same weight and when I was taking zith, I had it combined with other meds 250mg 2x per day and mino I take 100mg 2x per day combined with others.

Zith and mino are both good meds for Lyme.

He is not an LLMD but was recommended by the Michigan Advocate for Lyme Disease United Coalition as a doc in our area who has treated lyme patients with a combo of herbs, supplements and antibiotics. He indicates Lyme as an area of expertise. We don't seem to have LLMDs around this area who will treat teens. Now that we know the picture is complicated by babesia, we're in search of a doc with more experience.
