I'm AB+ - I think universal recipient?

I would like to restate that none of us should donate blood from now on. The blood supply is not screened for these infections and we surely don't want to pass them on. At this point in time, we can't tell if we are in remission or cured (or if a complete cure can actually be attained due to lack of good testing) and donated blood could easily be given to someone with an already compromised immune system - it's actually most likely they will.

The other things is that we also shouldn't be an organ donor either, for the very same reasons. If you have previously selected to be an organ donor (what a wonderful gesture! I was too) needs to make sure that it's been changed.

Until we win this battle of proving chronic Lyme exists and that it can be passed on in these ways, we simply can't risk infecting other people like that.

I agree 100% with you Traveler! I've told family no organ transplant until chronic lyme has been unequivocally determined. would not wish this on anyone.

I can tell in my body there has been probably permanent damage and I was acutely aware of symptoms in areas that give me persistent problems even after treatment.

for others...I was in treatment for 18 months (I had gone over 10 years undiagnosed/misdiagnosed before treatment).

I agree no blood donation but AB+ & - are universal plasma donors. I'm guessing the don't donate stance should apply to plasma as well. opinions welcome.

O+ have REALLY struggled with treatment. If anything just got worse from four months of treatment. I agree about not donating, i called red cross and central blood bank when i tested positive for lymes as i had recently donated. Told them i couldn't give anymore.

I have done a lot of study on the Rh factor. This is a weird story in itself as the Rh stands for the Rhesis monkey. No one can say for sure WHERE the neg factor comes from.
