Bicillin syringes: does this look right?

Hello all,

This is a refill prescription so I was surprised when they didn't look the same as the first batch. The first batch was evenly filled to the plunger and only had a few tiny bubbles throughout.

These syringes are all this way -- with a large pocket/bubble of air that's near the top. And, there seems to be tons more tiny bubbles within the fluid.

I'm not so concerned about the air itself, except that it will be difficult to tell when to stop plunging as that air bubble goes deeper down in the center than these pictures can reveal.

My first thought was they they weren't properly stored and the bicillin sort of melted and pooled toward the bottom (syringes are stored in the box horizontally). And, this is my bigger concern, that they weren't refrigerated or got hot for a period of time. Not sure what that means, but surely theres a reason you refrigerate this stuff!

Anyone have syringes that looked like this & lived to tell about it?

Hi formless,

Hold the syringe in your left hand with the needle pointing towards the ceiling.  Tap the side of the syringe by flicking your pointer finger against your thumb.  You should see the bubble rise to the top.  Now push on the syringe until the medicine rises to the top of the syringe and a dot of this med comes out of the needle.  You are ready to go!
