Hi All

I just wanted to say hi ..I am a new member.. I was just Diagnosed with Lyme last month after an 8 year struggle being misdiagnosed with MS...I started treatment.... but have tons of questions so I thought I would join ..everyone seems so helpful and I am very confused.. so thanks for having me and looking forward to getting to know everyone...this is so overwhelming...

Hi and WELCOME to our little community. It is quite common for people to be diagnosed as having MS or other autoimmune diseases and then years later to find out that they had Lyme and/or coinfections. I am sure that some of our members will chime in about that shared experience!

I would encourage you to take a look at the thread entitled "New to Lyme?....Start Here" for some important information that is good to know. Please pay particular notice to the section on detoxing. The microbes produce a highly poisonous toxin when they die. Many physicians believe that these toxins are responsible for a lot of the damage and symptoms. Detoxing will help to alleviate the symptoms to a more manageable level.

I agree that it is very confusing and overwhelming in the early days of the realization that you have the illness. We are here to help you on your new journey. There is a lot of experience and knowledge shared by the membership here. We would like to think that we are a friendly bunch, and want to encourage and support you.

Likewise, we are looking forward to getting to know you! Please relax because there is hope, even if you've been sick for years. Welcome aboard!

Hi Lynne. My husband was diagnosed with an autoimmune "disease" too. After a lot of research last year, he got tested and discovered it is Lyme. There is a lot of good information and wonderful support on this forum so you on the road to getting better.
