Update on my healing

Hi everyone!

I haven't posted in a while, but I do still follow the forum.
My treatment is plugging along. The month of June was definately the best one I've had since starting almost 7 months ago. My bad days were not as intense, and I had more stretches of good days. I even got a part time job working from home!!!! I have been able to run around outside with my son!!! And not feel like collapsing afterwards :)

I started Mepron for Babesia 3 weeks ago, all was going pretty well and then the herx hit last week. I haven't had one this tough for a few months now. Of course it was disappointing and I cried a lot. To feel so much better and then get that ill again. But I should have known, it happens everytime I start a new med. The worse before better part of this disease....

But I believe the Mepron is starting to help. My horrid sweats seem to be getting better. Some of the anxiety seems to be getting under control. My nervous system feels calmer at times.

Compared to where I was a year ago, I am definately on the road to healing!!

We joined about the same time. I started Malarone almost 3 months ago and it has been a real treat (NOT). My fatigue, shortness of breath and weakness is overwhelming. I, too, was feeling better with other antibiotics prior to starting Malarone. I am also taking clindamycin. I am going to talk to my LLMD on the 9th to see if I can take a short break although I won't jeopardize my treatment. I never did sweat but had horrid chills, by the way.

I think that we will both feel so much better once we get this Babesia under control.
